this story is for my old co-worker and friend christina, who responded to this post, where you might notice i had to get a little creative with my photo cropping. there's a little more to that story.
and here it goes.
sometime after evan found belly button, but before i showed him his nose, he discovered his ding. and his papa's ding. and his brother's ding. if you haven't figured out what a ding is yet, let me just say i'm the only member of this family that doesn't have one.
dings, as i'm learning, are fascinating to little boys, and big boys for that matter. and evan just can't resist touching his, or his papa's, or his older brother's any chance he can get. sometimes, we will see it coming, and in preparation for the little push to the private area that is about to happen, james will call out "ding."
and so it is. my 15 month old can also point out one other body part.
his ding, as he so proudly calls out and reaches for each and every time i change his diaper.
ding, he calls loudly with a huge smile as his hand reaches down to his little boy parts and then up for a high five.
because, as i'm also learning, dings are so important to the male population thatthey should be high fived.
so christina, don't worry, you aren't alone. as you said, boys will be boys.
