planted.

yesterday afternoon, the boys got the first of our summer veggies into the backyard garden plot before last night's rain.

we eat a lot of okra and tomatoes during the summer months and freeze just as much as we eat. so, this year, we decided to keep it simple and plant only our favorites. that means no beans or corn, limited squash and peppers, and just a few cucumbers. leaving lots of room for okra and tomatoes.

we might give watermelons one more try, and james said i could pick out a veggie of my own. i'm thinking spaghetti squash because it is a great alternative to pasta, but i'm tempted to choose some type of eggplant, based solely on the fact that i'd enjoy seeing a deep shade of purple growing in our garden.

my lovely little life.

hi, i'm lana. if you are here, more than likely you know me. you probably also know my husband, two boys and two dirty dogs. more than likely, you've seen me wearing one of my many polka dot shirts, and i've asked you to take a pilates or zumba class with me.

you probably also know i'm kind of obsessed with all of those things.

i'm sure you've been by my old blog, our life with lane, at least once or twice. i started that blog shortly after my first boy was born. there, i would share pictures and stories about my life as a new mama and my babe. three years later, and i was still sharing plenty of pictures of my babes, but not sharing too much about myself.

the other day, as i watched my boys play together, i realized that my old blog had grown stale. my life with lane - and evan - is anything but boring. in fact, it is quite the opposite.

it is lovely.

and that's when it occurred to me. it isn't that i don't have much to say. quite the opposite. i have even more to say. i just need a new space to do so in.

so, here we are. lana's lovely little life. this is where i'll share even more about my life, and what makes it so lovely.

and, of course, there will still be plenty of cute photos of those darling little boys of mine.
